I have sent for some food from Animal Zone after reading some of the posts on this forum, Parrot food natural, fruit chunks and Plumage enhancer (was just going to send for the food but as the p+p was £6 i thought get it when you can). My question is how would you feed these, mix them in, or feed separately one in the morning one in the night etc

I haven't used the animal zone yet but I've heard that lots of the birds on here have taken to it well
Someone who uses it will be along soon

to convert mine to AZ, I put just the enchancer in the dish and left it there, I didn't give them anything else. The first day they left it, second day they picked at it the third day they ate it all up.  I gave them just Enhancer then for a few more days and then gave them some of the museli as a different thing, now they eat it all.   Just go for it, don't give in because they will think if they hold out long enough they'll get something else.  They always have pellets available.

Is this meant to be fed alongside pellets or as an alternative? Are the animal zone foods a complete diet?

The AnimalZone is a complete Pellet diet

I mix Fruit chunks and Plumage Enhancer together, and they are available all of the time in their bowls

Mine seem to love the stuff

I also , for a change, give them seed one day a week instead of the pellets

I mix all 3 for Dexter. I was very pleasantly surprised how easily he took to it - he dived straight in there and now he almost seems to see it as a "treat". He wouldn't touch the Harrisons when I tried him on that and just kept chucking it out 😄

Well Billy is holding out and refusing to eat it ..... but im afraid he will have to :) i'm on the Dukan diet and the pellets are starting to look pallitable to myself, so i haven't got mush sympathy for the bird lol I think his way of telling be he's hungry is to chirp in my ear to the extent it is painful. I have industrial deafness from working underground, i think parrot deafness could be a new one to claim for ;)

Some of the Animalzone Cereal i mixed together with it and some apple . Flew out the kitchen and was pecking at seeds in perspex container. He is noisy today, and obviously intent on getting his own back. Is he noisy because he wants different food ?. Thats my guess

Billy has taken to the AZ products well now and appears to really enjoy them. The noise levels have also dropped.... it was starting to get to me a bit :)

There is quite a lot of powder from the pellets left in the bottom of the bowl after feeds. Is this what they use in parrot bread (anyone got a simple recipe that works)  ? Are there any other possible uses ??

Edit ... just read there is a parrot recipe book for sale on here so i'll prob check that out

That's great news

You can use that in bread, and other recipes too, or put it on the lawn or bird table outside for the wild birds

If you send Pat a pm, she will tell you how to get your recipe book
