 what are you like?  sorry to raise such a wonderful subject.
Is it still a big "splat" when they go? or is it more firm? Sensi's poop is getting really dark and is more firm, it varies from quite firm to just a splat, where as before he used to just devasted the bottom of his cage with poo bombs
just worried that maybe he is a bit constipated, although he has a variety of fruit and veg daily. xx

Its a horrible wait isn't it Lisa?  And yeah, will seem to be the slowest months you have ever experienced!

But yeah, research, research, research....and if you get stuck with anything..shout up and someone will point you in the right direction

Hi I agree that the dried fruit seems to go down well also they like a small amount of decaf. Camomile tea as it seems to calm them down a bit if very nervous

Hi guys. I am just taking a minute to give you some more accurate info. I have been involved with the Klapmuts Bird Clinic in South Africa which is on the same premises of where the AZ range is produced under the guidance of the avian veterinarian.

The best combination is Muesli together with Plumage enhancer. Vit A also plays a role. All the products you mentioned are completely balanced. Parrot Cereal and Soft Food which is available for younger birds and smaller birds is the only ones that should be mixed with water when fed. Soft food can be used for smaller birds as well as pigeons etc. For the bigger birds, after being handreared on handrearing food by Animalzone, it can be introduced to solids with the parrot cereal product until it can completely go over to the pellet products...any of these can be used because all of them are very balanced. The plumage enhancer and muesli are the advised ones, but the others are there for variety. Some birds like colour, some don't. The coloured pellets could change the colour of the feces (the same as with humans) if you eat a lot of beet etc...

Changes to the product in the future will be...one size pellets which will not be as big because the parrots tend to play to much with the food and thus there will be less wastage.

Animalzone currently has a hold up with international distribution as the relationship with the previous distributor in UK has ended. Best would be to subscribe to their facebook page to be kept up to date:

Email admin@animalzone.co.za or marketing@animalzone.co.za for information. Phil is no longer the distributor in the UK. The product is produced in South Africa.

The problem we have is, it can't be bought in the UK at the moment.  If and when I hear of Animalzone being back on the market in UK, I will let you all know.

Hi All

Just to clarify: Animalzone UK is no longer associated with Animalzone South Africa, their products or business dealings.

The new products will launched soon under the name AMA-ZONE NATURALS and will be produced by one of the largest and most experienced dry pet food manufacturers in Europe. All of the regular retailers will be stocking it soon and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them publicly for their patience and loyalty.

Thanks!

sounds to me as though your stealing animalzones recipes and ideas even the name is nearly the same, what you have to remember is that animalzone products are tried tested and proven and safe, these new products are not.  will there be safe for our birds. and if they have not been tested how can you be sure they will give the same benefits that animalzone have already done.

I would not assume certain things about the new products until you have all facts at hand John. Maybe you could explain to me where you gained your information from? Nothing is being stolen or replicated and no product is being released directly onto the market. We are working closely with Avian Nutritionists in the UK to create a truly unique product. The manufacturing company is the biggest in the UK & Europe and have been manufacturing the highest quality pets foods for over 30 years. They are also BRC grade A accredited. This process has taken over 10 months to achieve and we are still working on it. The products are being tested on my own on flock, if you must know. Our birds all live in the house with my family and not in cages at the bottom of our garden. The most important issue for me is the birds welfare as it always has been, you only need to speak to any of my retailers to know that. Animalzone products are and always will be a very good product. I had a very fulfilling 3 and a half years with them and I have now decided to move in a new direction. The name of the company was devised with most of our retailers input. Please be careful what you say on forums with any real facts in your possession.

hi

i take it that you are Phil the gentleman who is producing this new brand of pellets.

firstly even though the name you are giving the new brand of pellets is very similar to animalzones own name. i should not have said stealing . that was wrong of me i do apologise to you,
and again your right i don't have all the facts . but i do have a few friends who are suppliers who have said to me that the information that you have given them is that the pellets will be virtually the same as animalzones . but with a few little alterations, again I'm sorry if i have been told wrong.
can i assume there i go again assuming.sorry that you have finished the process if you are testing your own birds on the pellets,
can i just add and this is not a criticism but i would think that some owners who purchase your brand of pellets. might have birds that live in cages and aviary's in the garden all year round in all weathers. so it would be a good idea to maybe try your brand out on some out door birds. as indoor birds have totally diffrent needs to outside birds. i wont go into why but there do.
Ive add a look but cannot find a website about your product do you have one. it would be nice to see how the pellets are been manufactured and the process there going through. things like where the ingredients are sourced from. and if the pellets are colored how the coloring is put into the pellets. as you say the birds welfare is the most important thing. so it would be good to know a little bit about the pellets before there become available to us the public.
