hi barrie

some people try all sorts of things barrie .there's really no need to put it in the water or even spray your bird with it don't get me wrong it wont do them any harm . but spaying your grey with just water would be just as good . some say putting it in the water is good for the gut but if there's nothing wrong with the bird why bother , now i do use apple cider vinegar i put it in the water when I'm soaking the seeds and pulses it stops mould forming on them it does have its uses

hello Karen
if it says apple vinegar it will be cider yes  if your getting it from a supermarket it will be the refined apple cider all this means Karen is that its not quite as strong as the unrefined stuff that i use. and the easy way to tell the refined acv will look clear the unrefined that i use is cloudy and stronger smelling but yes its OK to use the refined for soaking your seeds and pulses

Hiya....I remember years ago that ACV was used in diets as its supposed to cut down the fat.....not sure if that true.  This diet was for us humans not birds.  I wonder if thats why they recommend it for birds, because of the high fat content in some seeds.   Just a thought.....I rattle off now... I just like joining in.   :cheekkiss:

It cleanses there stomach and kills any germs which is good,it also is an good house hold cleaner, a spoon full of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice mixed with water is an good disafantant and gets rid of stubborn stains, maybe a spray bottle full would be good to clean up poo but is also good for any other stains and good for cages too.

i'll have to try this on the dried bits i sometimes miss

around my windows there is the rubber seal which seems to attract mold,i'm always wiping them down. i wonder if cyder vinegar would work on those

Standard white vinegar (neat or 50/50) definitely works for that and also limescale, and probably cheaper (although I haven't compared I admit). Great for spraying bathroom etc after shower - add a few drops of tea tree oil for anti bac plus a nicer (slightly) smell 👍
