AZ Birdie Bread
« on: January 21, 2012, 11:44:18 AM »

This morning I had a go at making birdie bread with the leftover powder from the AZ pellets. The recipe I used is as follows:

1 cup of powdered AZ pellets
1/4 cup barley
1/4 cup flour
1 mashed banana
1/8 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp baking powder
Pinch of each nutmeg and cinnamon
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup cranberries (mine were frozen)
1/4 cup finely chopped broccoli
1/4 cup apple juice

It worked well, and the boys are munching!!

Pictures of the birdie bread are attached.

    Nice one.  It's surprising what you can chuck in the oven isn't it when you come to use up bits and pieces for their bread.

Brilliant

will give that a go myself for my two

Glad they are enjoying the bread, and when they eat things like that, it makes it much easier to accept all the wasted food, cos you are recycling it to them  :haha:

i dont use tin. i just smear it out on baking sheet glynn.
as long as you keep it bread consistency and not soup it should be okay.
i tried both and dont recommend the last
