Cockatiel Food
« on: November 09, 2011, 12:38:43 AM »

In error when I bought some kaytee to try Elvis on I ended up with Cockatiel mix as shown here: -
http://www.kaytee.com/products/exact-rainbow-cockatiel-14-oz.php

unfortunately, it wasn't until he was eating it did I realise.  I checked the ingredients comparied to this: -
http://www.kaytee.com/products/exact-rainbow-fruity-large-parrot.php

which I was supposed to be getting and there was only two ingredients missing from the cockatiel mix and none extra so I carried on feeding it him as he liked it and with all the problems getting him to eat pellets..... Anyway when I haven now bought the real stuff he won't eat it  :cry2: :cry2: :cry2:  Don't ask me why - I presume its because they are different in size and shape.

Can anyone see any reason I couldn't keep feeding him the cockatiel mix????

thanks for that John - I've never seen that before.  Its a weird one as I've tried them all and he won't eat any of them apart from this one.

As Liz says I will email and ask.  I'm also going to mention about the bad ingredients and see what they say x

Elvis is really difficult with pellets and these are the only ones I can get him to eat (and not the right ones at that as he won't eat the proper parrot ones) so I guess i just need to consider if it is a better option than seed - which I think it is.  Hopefully I can trick him at some point to swap over onto the Zupreem which would be better all round.

He is one difficult parrot when it comes to pellets  :panic:
