it is if the eggs have been first boiled for at least 25-30 minutes (if not feeding the egg shell then probably about 20 mins is enough). Also, make sure you get organic eggs as you don't want him to eat residue of antibiotics and other nasties from those shells.

Cooking the shell (not with the egg still inside obviously!) in a fairly hot oven for about fifteen minutes makes the shell brittle and really easy to crumble over food  :thumbsup:

Fab idea, kids have scrambled and occasionally me n Shaun have fried ( not since I've been doing weight watchers obviously ) now I can bake the shells instead of throwing them away

occasionallyI have bakedthem till crumbly and given them back to the chooks if their eggshell quality of their eggs isn't brilliant
