Jack's new diet.
« on: January 16, 2012, 08:34:24 PM »

So in my last post i introduced 7 year old Jack, who was raised on a seed only diet :baseballbat:

I made the mistake of buying some Pretty Bird pellets, and after reading into it more, realised they were not of a very good quality.  So now i have managed to get 3 samples from animal zone, which Jack seems to be OK with.  Then i looked up for local AZ dealers in my area, and the nearest was 16 miles away in Coalville, and i bought 1kg Muesli and 1kg Plumage Enhancer.  If anyone knows anywhere closer to Leicester, then PLEASE let me know.

I  came back from work to an empty bowl today  so Jack has taken to them really well.  I RECOMMEND THESE TO ANYONE .  I just took his seed away completely, and at first he seemed angry, and was shouting "GRRRRRR" and whacking his dish  But he loves them now!

There does seem to be alot of crumbs from this food though, which will be collected (from the food dish, and bottom of bags) and made into some sort of concoction later.

I'm still giving him his Veggies though as he loves them.  I hung a corn on the cob up in his cage last night and he polished the lot!

Veggies fed daily:
Peas (his fave), Brocolli, Carrot, Red pepper, Sprouting mung beans.

3 times a week:
Apple, Satsuma, grapes.

Treats:
Sweetcorn, Pasta, Boiled egg.

I think I am doing OK, but if anyone has any opinions please say.  The only thing with all this food is I'm now hoovering/cleaning every day

That sounds like a fantastic diet and it's great he's enjoying AZ Pellets  :yahoo: :yahoo:

Have you tried ordering them from Scarletts? http://scarlettsparrotessentials.co.uk/default.aspx
She delivers very fast and her prices are competitive, I get mine from her and I live in Glasgow

I think even with the postage, it will be a good price from Scarletts

Get two big bags, and that will be slightly over £50 and the postage will be reduced or free!
