Palm Fruit Oil
« on: June 04, 2011, 09:26:58 PM »

Hiya, I bought some of this recently for Charlie, but at the mo he just doesn't seem to like it :cry2:  :nerner::cry2: :nerner: :cry2:
I would love for him to take to it but so far I have tried him on toast, with palm fruit oil, veggies with palm fruit oil, bread with palm fruit oil Harrisons with palm fruit oil!!!!!! Oh dear...what could I offer him next?? He likes the rare treat of a grape so I could try him with that but any other ideas would be a brilliant start
Thanks all

I got charlie to eat it with warm cooked pulses and melted it into it, then he liked it, mind you I got him to eat pellets by mixing it into pulses and other food.

My birds adore their palm nuts! Not the kind of product you'll find in any pet shop though, you'll have to order online.

Oh really? Is it a chain or an independent? Would be so much more convenient to go and buy them!

Independent. Scottish Avian Supplies.  I try to buy as much as possible from them so they stay in business.  They just started stocking Harrisons, they've found it difficult to find a reliable supplier.

the two old guys that own it are great. They have loads of parrots. They take on rescue birds, I've never seen any of them but they have a lot of very badly plucked rescue cockatoos :(  Last time I went in there was a pair of gorgeous budgies.

The only thing I don't like is that when they open the freezer to get the palm nuts they had loads of dead white mice  :panic: :panic: (for the hawkers)
