just did my shopping in asda (love shopping at night with no kids) and i walked past a shelf and saw PALM OIL... didnt buy it as i wasnt sure if its the same as palm NUT oil... it was amongst the indian food and i know someone here have mentioned they buy theirs from an local indian shop... could it be the same???

here is a link so that you can find out if your local asda stocks palm oil just click basket and it asks for your postcode enter your postcode and it lets you know if your local asda stocks it

I cant belive it.......I just paid £17 for a tub and I've been so tight with it and have been giving Bailey the tiniest tiniest amount so that it lasts a long time!! I'm off to Asda tomorrow then to stock up!!

Is that a paste you bought ? I looked in the local Turkish shop today and they wanted £1.79 for a tub but I thought I needed liquid, which they didn't have.

I buy mine on ebay, just got one here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230686661262?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 there are other listings cheaper but they are smaller amounts and this is the same stuff ASDA are selling (but not a store anywhere near me).

Ann it's kinda solid at room temp (tho easily spreadable) and doesn't take much to melt/liquify. Even if you just pop some on your finger it turns to liquid pretty quick.

I asked this a coupleo f months bakc but am sure I was told it wasn't the right stuff. Will pop off and try and find it. My Asda doesn't sell it but I will hunt some down mwhahaha

EDIT - it was considered the same, there was just the eco question of whether it comes from sustainable sources

I buy mine in bulk, we got about 12 tubs when we buy it that way and I freeze it, I know that sounds silly, but I put the tubs that I'm not using in the freezer so they keep longer

Today I bought canola and red palm fruit oil, is this OK ? It has natural carotenes in it and omega 3 & 6 also antioxidant pro-vitamin A & E. I can always take it back tomorrow if it's wrong.
