they might have some sense of smell but I don't think it is quite as keen as that of dogs and cats, even judging by the fact that birds are not bothered if their babies were handled by humans, and they just don't seem to rely on the sense of smell, whereas that is what dogs and cats rely on when choosing food.

Yeah I suppose that the case. Not many others have a sense of smell like a dog and thinking laterally not many smell like my dog hahaha who is sitting next to me making me retch haha. I tried it tonight and peeled the orange in the hall with my body still in the room and he was shrieking hahaha

ah, Pip, Hagen pellets do smell crazy, like bubble gum, so dont' get surprised if you order them  :biggrin: they are of natural colour though, pretty much.

I read many years ago that parrots omit a smell to attract a mate us humans can not smell it but parrots of the same species can, so i guess "yes" they can smell

ah yes, they definitely emit smell. When we are outside I can smell Digby so much more, his smell gets really strong, and when he cuddles up with me too.

Pay day today so I've just ordered a big bag of Hagen from Northern Parrots along with my usual big bag of Harrisons from Vet UK  :thumbsup:
