more intresting ways to give cookie and scooby veg?
what veg do your birds love and hate?
how do you give it to them?

cookie loves sweet corn and peas
scooby loves carrots
they both love sweet potato
they both dislike normal potato
cookie dislikes carrots
scooby dislikes sweetcorn and peas

My three Hobbits love everything I give them, they are such good eaters

I make lots of different recipes for them, from chop/mash to Quinoa surprise.

Dexter loves warm sweet potato and butternut squash in the morning. I mix in some green beans, sugarsnap peas, brussels, greens and anything else I've got handy. He's quite partial to quinoa as well 😄

I Love quinoa. I have mine with chopped apple and peanut butter. Lovely I'm thinking of sharing that with my new baby when he arrives.

jaspers favourites are sweet potato,white potato (cooked & mashed)brussels,sometimes peas and the beans you soak before cooking. rarely he will eat carrot or green beans

cookie used to like mash/chop but now wont eat it:L hes been eating all hes pellets but hardly any veg

Tracey if you add some herbs and spices to the mash he may be tempted to eat it again.

These are from the safe food list , just try various combinations.

Basil
Calendula
Coriander
Dill
Fennel
Oregano
Parsley
Rosemary
Thyme

List of suitable spices:

Anise
Cayenne pepper
Chilli
Cinnamon
Cumin
Ginger
Fenugreek
Paprika
Turmeric
Curry Powder

Due to the fact that parrots have few taste buds adding stronger flavours to the mash may helps. Hope it works.

once or twice i've made batches of mash (different recipe to the book) and froze protions of it,and i must admit it did look and taste rather bland. jasper loved the first fresh portion but wouldn't touch it after it had been frozen,defrosted,then re-heated.

so when i make some of the chop/mash i'll try adding a few herbs and spices,maybe he'll get to like it again

sucess i switched hes dishes around so
veg at top then pellets at bottom then pellets at top and veg at bottom i switched em around twice a day since then hes polished both veg+pellets
