What foods are a big NO to feed an AG?? :nono:

Also he doesnt eat very much of anything..... I dont want him to get ill but i also dont want him to only eating 2 things ... which is where we are at now.

I will be getting my hubby to go and get some pomegranate today.  :yummy: Fingers crossed he will at least try it!!

Chocolate, alcohol, caffeine, asparagus, mushrooms and onion are all on the no feed list. No junk foods (very high in fat and salt!). If you search through the diet section there is a list of safe foods in there :D

We have only had him a week but the previous owners said that he will only eat pretty bird biscuits.  Do you think it is worth me trying him on pellets and if so which ones do you recomend??

Hi there,  a lot of the people on here feed their birds Harrison's High Potency Coarse pellets.  I feed mine Hagen Tropican Sticks, really any decent pellet it better than a seed mix, but if you must feed a seed mix, then Tidymix is the best out of the lot.  Have a look in the diet section on how to convert to pellets and lots of other ideas about foods, mash/chop lots of recipes to try.  It's a matter of trial and error and just little bits for them to try, pretend to eat it yourself and actually let him see you do it and then sort of half turn away from him, so he thinks he isn't going to get any.....you'll be surprised at how much he will want to try it when he thinks it's yours and not his.
