Advice please

Hi Everyone I have had TJ now for 2 weeks he is quite highly strung ! he as settled in very well eating very well including his fruit  sprouted seeds etc he will let me tickle and put things in his cage sometimes he is very sweet the all of a sudden lunges he also as not come out of his cage as I have said he will let me put my hand in and give him a good tickle head down and is talking away just wont step up should I leave his door open and see if he will come out and try some training out of his cage Thanks

They are highly strung .. two weeks is quite a short time. They definitely know their own minds. He may feel secure in the cage encouragement is better than force. Remove the favourite food and only reward with it. They pick things up pretty quickly but they do it for themselves not us.

Thank you he is 8 years old and think Im his 4th home Im not totally inexperienced with parrots I have 4 more lol but he is proving a little more eco operative shall we say lol he is a lovely boy and doing well just I worry about him never coming out all mine are out regularly

Our two birds in the summer spend 3days at our caravan with us and 4 days at home .
This year we  got a new cage for the caravan .
At both places they have a massive amount of freedom if they want it .We're retired our time is  our own.
Yet it's very rare our eldest bird comes out at the caravan and up to now weve had over the summer 63days there.W e just let em do what they want and leave the door and top openers open all the time.
