Here is a quick story on Otis.
He was found by an elderly woman flying the streets near central Florida.
(This is according to the woman I got him from)
Her granddaughter went and got the neighbor to help catch him.
They had him for a little while a few months or so... he got out of the cage they had him in, chased them through the house, onto of the bed.

Really? This doesn't sound right, but that's what she said.
The next person to get him was my friend, the local bird groomer. The elderly woman called her and said get him out of here he's a bully. Or something to that effect.
So my friend the bird groomer, has him for about a year. in the mean time she has ended up with 30 birds and was trying to place some, Otis, being one of them.
I was at a local bird expo and ran into her at her grooming table, she had a double yellow she had brought for someone else, (Who never showed) and Otis.
I have always wanted a grey. I really wanted a Congo, but now I am partial to Timneh. I like the size and the coloring. Granted, they don't have the bright red tail feathers, but that dark maroon is pretty cool. I think he looks like he's wearing a suit, and he really is a penguin, in disguise.
So Otis, as he calls himself, came home with us that day.

We bought him a brand new cage at the expo that day, brought it home. Cleaned and disinfected the cage and put him in quarantine, (the master bedroom).
He was in a little bird cage, as the travel cage.
We get this little guy, in new surroundings, new noises, he has been at an expo all day, he's tired and cranky and hungry.
How to get him out of the cage....

Don't have a clue if he steps up...if he is stick trained nothing. She just said, I haven't really had time to spend with him. He's closet talker, talks, but not while you are in the room.
What to do... My partner hands me a perch, oh no, he's panicking. So, she bites the bullet and stick her arm in, CHOMP!!!! Great,(sigh).
We dismantled the little cage he was in and as soon as the top came off he took flight. Landed... I ended up toweling him, (I didn't want to do that) and putting him in the cage. We left the room as soon as we saw he was ok. Let him just veg for a couple of hours; get some food, water, relax.
The next morning, he's covered up, we hear, "Good Morning, want a cracker?"
Then he would talk while we were out of the room. Then started whistling to the other birds in the house, call and response.
The next morning, he's covered, we here, Good Morning, Lord o' mercy, you want a cracker?" OMG
ok, so weeks went on, he's been moved into the main part of the house. This boy has one heck of a vocabulary, talks while you are in the room, answers questions with funny remarks, if the water in the sink is on, he says, "Water, want some water." I mean he is really intelligent.
He is the class clown. And I know he loves me, and I love him!
My Blue & Gold will always be my number one girl, he's my forever boy.
The Senegal, SweetPea, is my partners bird. She is a mess, I love her too!!!!
This is my flock. I love them all, with all my heart!
