« on: August 31, 2014, 02:11:23 PM »

not sure what section to put this in... I had a cag few year ago but unfortunately reluctantly had to sell her :( but now iam wanting to hopefully get another one in a few months time, as I miss not having one.. question is, is it better to have 1 or would it be better to have two of them?

Can I ask why you had to sell her? If it's not too personal

Gordy lots of life changes may 'get in the way'
But I for one would work round it
You couldn't sell a child if your job changed :nono:

When you research it's said "owning a grey is like Havin a todler for the rest of your life"
Take that on board and really think about wether you have the time /lifestyle etc to accommodate a 'todler' for maybe the next 50 or more yrs x

Gordy, sorry if I'm being too direct. If you really insist on getting another cag then shouldn't you think of getting 1 first instead of already thinking about 2? It is like someone learning to run before they could even walk first. 1 is a lot of responsibility let alone 2.

A parrot that lives with you is not a pet or a companion. Neither is the parrot a friend.  Your parrot becomes your family. A child that never grows up :)

True, as you've already had an african grey, you know they are not easy, two is way harder than one, if you are thinking of getting two to be companions to each other, you may get two that hate each other, that means two cages, if you think they'll keep each other company when you're not there. That's another fallacy.
