« on: April 06, 2016, 08:21:54 AM »

Hi I had to rehome my parrot a year ago due to my father being very ill and us moving in with him as he was terminal the house had sloping low ceilings and he kept bashing his eye socket and making it bleed also due to the lack of time I felt it was best for him I now have him back and thank god I do he has not been getting out while they had him and he is now terrified when I tried to get him out shaking and screaming and trying to get away other than its all been going well he's coming to me when I go to the cage and taking treats from my hand I had him back almost 2 weeks can any one tell me the best eat to approach this he even won't step up anymore the home he came back from had 2 cats and 4 dogs and he was terrified when I got him  he is 6 years old and I was his second home

Some years ago we rehomed a 26yr old Timneh grey that had never been let out of his cockatiel sized cage for 3 yrs !!!!!!!
Like our  Mandi says, its early days yet and also when he does finally come out you may find he just flops down as his wing muscles could be stiff .
Give him time :cheekywink: hes been through a lot :blow:
He will come out in his own time probably when he thinks your not watching him  :cheekywink:
