Update on Jake's behavior
« on: May 13, 2016, 01:29:45 PM »

So taking the advice from you all, I made sure Jake was getting more dark time, and I did not pay attention to him when he wanted held, cause he only wanted one thing.

I can safely say he is over his "mating phase".

That being said, I feel like we have taken a step back in the friendship.  He won't let me hold him anymore and gets very skittish when I go around him.   The behavior is a large contrast from a week ago.  I must admit it is a little disappointing.

The silver lining is, he has let me pet him a few times, maybe a little more frequently than he had before.  I am not sure what else to do to keep building the friendship.

keep doing what you are doing, you will feel like its a step back but it's not really, its kind of like fake friendship anyway and would stop.

You'll get there :)

Thanks for the encouragement.  I bought a clicker and he really likes that.  Every time he lets me pet him I have been using it.  We will see if that helps.
