Using words in context.
« on: February 05, 2010, 01:12:11 PM »

Ollie does tend to use words and phrases very cleverly rather than just repeating what's said to her. George and Ollie were just chasing each other around inside the cage playing, with Ollie giving it, "Oi, get off me, leave me alone, pack it in" which is funny enough   but George who tends to be a bit Kamikaze suddenly dropped from the top to the bottom of the cage. Ollie just said in a loud, clear and quite shocked voice " Bloody Hell " something I have never heard her say before, and was so relevant to what he'd done, I couldn't have put it better myself. Really made me chuckle.

That is so strange you have brought this subject to light....my two do exactly the same, i must get on video....thye say things in such context...like when i am cleaning Eric keeps going Phewww, ohhhh, like a sigh when your working hard..when Echo goes near him he goes, oihhhh, get off twot...Eric does this really high pitched squeal sometimes, its horrible and he does it on purpose, but everytimes he does it, he says, shut up Eric to himself...and Echo says shut up as well

They are so entertaining at times  and getting a second bird has easily doubled the entertainment value, but sometimes they are just so surprising. She must of heard that phrase and stored it away until and opportunity came up to use it  Amazing.
She's trying to get George to move now and is saying " Come on George, move, get out of the way" , and he's moved too, how cool is that

Billy and Echo are the same - they speak to each other and to us in context a majority of the time.  It's hilarious

When my back was at its worst i used to moan and groan a lot when cleaning Chilli's cage out, really struggling to do it. Chilli was very young at the time and hadnt learnt to speak.
But now my moaning and groaning has died down a fair bit as my back has improved, but Chilli has taken it upon himself to re-create my pain every day without fail, all i hear as i clean his cage is the big long  :quote: Oooooohhhhh  :quote: to start (me bending down), followed by loads of  :quote: Ooh's  :quote:  :quote: Ah's  :quote: and any other noises i used to make, with a few naughty  :quote: Bogger's  :quote: and  :quote: Bostard's  :quote: thrown in!!

He also likes to take a sip of his water followed by  :quote: Mmmm nice!  :quote: when i re-fill his water dish with fresh!
