Happy homecoming Dave
« on: February 18, 2016, 08:35:05 PM »

6 years ago tomorrow I bought home this guy
He had been locked in a cage for a minimum of 3 yrs
He's never once allowed me  a head tickle
Never once stepped up, he's attacked and bitten me a lot
We kinda have a understanding (I don't touch he don't bite)
Over the years we've learned together , he steps into his travel cage (though it got to be the grey one not the white and nothing inside including the tray)
He also allows me (most of the time) to transfer him back to his cage top via a leather cushion (he's posh you see)
Anyways I'm sharing my story just to say they not all cuddly but you can still enjoy them :)
And it's no reason to give up on them when they "don't like me " xx

When I started to read this post Mandi I thought you were talking about our Fester
Eg Kept in a cockatiel cage for three years with a lump of cardboard and one mirror
Won't let you touch him
Doesent talk .
Cage aggressive
And now unless you stick food right under his beak he can't see it .But you know what ,there isn't a day goes by that he doesent make us smile with his antics, imitating our laughter at breakfast time ,rope chewing and the way he looks after Tim

Happy Homecoming Day Dave, you are much loved no matter what  :cheekkiss:

Same as our Fester and Tim too, so nice to hear him whistle. Xavier has a similar whistle, sounds a bit like the chap that used to whistle on stage :)
