Avix Soother Spray
« on: August 22, 2014, 10:56:32 AM »

Has anyone got this? If so can you tell me if it smells? Mine absolutely stinks, it smells like sweat, is that right?

I got it from Scarlett in July but only used it yesterday as one of the tiels is covered in pin feathers from moulting & after spraying I couldn't have her sat on me because of the smell. I had to bath her.

It couldn't have gone off could it?

Years ago Kaz we used to use it but it didn't smell  like sweat :nono:
We also used to use Johnsons Plume Spray :secret:
Theres only me in this house that smells like sweat when ive had a hard day in the bottom of the dry dock  :panic:
Like  Mandi for years now weve just mixed Aloe Vera in the water spray Given it a good shake each time before use & because of feather issues we spray our birds lightly every day

Is it the gel from aloe vera plants you use? Think i'll try your way, that one is definitely not right!

I used to use johnsons plume spray on my budgies but they lick the water off the cage afterwards and it made me wonder how safe it was being ingested. Didn't fancy trying it on the parrot.

I have it and it doesn't smell of anything so it's a bit baffling, however I have had another bottle lying around which has been used and over a year old (which I don't use but haven't thrown away either) and that one stinks.

A parrot that lives with you is not a pet or a companion. Neither is the parrot a friend.  Your parrot becomes your family. A child that never grows up :)
