Parcel string?

I have rolled a walnut in some cardboard I was wondering if it was ok to use a little bit of parcel string to secure it?

Should be OK if you make sure it doesn't become too frayed as he might ingest the pieces of string. Tie it up when you're around to keep watch x

I'm tempted to say be careful, i'm genuinely not sure if i'm making this up but I seem to remember a bird needing an operation as it had chewed string an pd it was stuck in its crop.

As I say i'm not sure if that's true or if i'm remembering something wrongly. I also hate string as I had a tiel that had a toy with string, somehow it unravelled it and wrapped it round it's neck & it died :( so I guess i'm biased against it

I was going to say that he wouldn't be left unattended with it but I don't think I'm going to take the chance :) so sorry kazky that must have been awful :( ..x
I managed to wedge it in his acrylic chain instead :)

It was awful and I felt so guilty as it was something I'd bought to enrich her life :(  i'm always of the opinion if you have a doubt about the safety then it's probably not worth testing it out.

Kazky I have heard of similar things happening with various toy parts becoming impacted in the crop. Sorry to hear of you tiel :(
