A Real Soaking
« on: April 18, 2014, 09:43:53 AM »

I know we all spray our birds at various times per week
With ours both having feather issues they get a light spray every day with Aloe Vera in the water
.But how many people on here give their bird a Real soaking every week eg In the shower ,bath or sink
.I soaked our 2 in the sink last week & there was a massive amount of bits &dander :panic:Having said that Tim had just been sitting her egg for 29days& id taken it off her

I wonder why some are more dusty than others? Bobby is really dusty at the minute u can see it on her feathers. I spray her regularly, she wont go near the shower but she has a bath in her water and I drench her with the spray when she does but she's still very dusty.

I don't know Lynn :nono: but perhaps there a bit like humans eg some people have scaley skin some people get lots of dandruff. But I do know this :secret: Having birds sitting eggs in the house is an utter nightmare :panic:
You cant clean the cage out properly or put your hand in for fear of having your fingers severed by 2 hooked beaks  :cry2 I have to use a pair of welding gloves  :secret::& the smell off the "Mr Magoo "when she does come off the eggs for moment to do it is overpowering especially if you have people coming to visit your home :cry2:

Sorry, being really naive here but..... soaking... can someone break it down for me? Is it just being sprayed with water or do I need to add something in with the water? Will my boy like it or is it each parrot to their own?

A good soak is just water but till they literally dripping /soaked to their skin
Just think their feathers are their clothes and will need washing x x
