Back from the vets..
« on: December 05, 2013, 06:58:32 PM »

Well, after an adventure in the car we got to the vets..

I took him as he has a bald patch which is getting worse on his head. He also has very scruffy chewed feathers..

After I finally got him away from all the nurses in reception (they loved him haha) we see the vet, she said the feathers look like he is shredded them due to being irritated coming into his first moult.

She then wanted to check him for lice or mites so she pulled a few feathers from his head, he absolutely hated this.. She put them on the glass screen then let him out the towel.. He then flew to me.. Blowing away the feathers! :( so she had to do it again :(

Turned out he has nothing wrong with the feathers, no lice or parasites etc. the feathers she pulled come clean out and didn't break which she said looked like it could be moult related as they come out so easily.

I have been given some aloe vera solution to help relief the itching and some additive for his food to help him get the goodness he needs. Also going to get the bird lamp too :)

This is him now (with an even bigger bald patch).. Protecting his poorly mum! Haha bless him. Shattered though, never seen him so sleepy!

Don't know if you see the other thread but think I found the course!!

He grabs corner of the cage and scratches with his feet, as he does this his head in wedged against a corner edge in the cage BANG ON his bald patch. Makes sense!

Fingers crossed it stops now it's blocked up
