hi everyone as we are still talking about our little pluckers Muffin has really improved little feather are coming back on her neck and she has stopped trying to lay eggs in the corner of her cage.  She doesnt even back into the corner now so a fantstice result.  A Big thank you to everyone for your info it has all worked.

Irina i put her toys in a tin (old biscuit) under her cage on top of her feed box she was out of her cage and i was busy doing things.  I kept hearing a bit of a clang and when i went to see what she was doing she had opened the tin all the toys were scattered over the floor and she was happily playing with the tine and making a right racket teehee

She is just so happy again :yahoo:

I was just remembering Muffin today morning, Patsy and was going to ask how she is doing, so glad she is getting better!!!  :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:    Well done, little Muffin and Patsy you too of course!
A little word of warning though, it is best to replace the tin with a cardboard box, not sure if the metal the tin is made of is safe. Great idea though and it sounds like Muffin is having a lot of fun!

Hi. Trevor plucked his feathers ut doesn't seem to be as bad now. I can only put it down to distracting him when he did it by giving him his favourite treat and teach him that when he stops, he gets something good - it seemed to work although he won't let his red tail feathers grow back because he hates the colours red and pink.
Hope you sort it :)

I know it has been ages since i have updated on Eric, he has been pretty much the same as always, still moody and don't want tickles or kisses  :cry2:

While we was away he and Reggie and Mai all had to be moved upstairs as mum has breathing problems and couldn't have all of them in the same room while she was here, Eric was sprayed as normal and mum put normal vinegar in his spray bottle instead of Cydar! Doh! But on our return he had grown back a lot of his down feathers and left them alone!! Since he has been back downstairs and being sprayed with his cydar vinegar he has plucked it all out again.../. Now do you think he didn't like the taste of the normal vinegar and left them alone??

He is still a right fussy eater will pick at his fruit and veg.... i am feeling quite guilty as i am not able to spend as much time with him as i want to to try and get him better he still looks a right mess  :cry2:, i have so much going on i don't think it is fair on him, so am thinking that maybe it would be better for him to go to someone else who doesn't have a million and one parrots and children to deal with..... What does everyone think, will this upset him more, or do you think it will help him??

If he is rehomed i would be looking at someone on the forum i know will take care of him and give him what he needs, if anyone is intrested in taking on Eric incase that is the route we go down please express your interest here, any comments would be great and views you have on him...

Thanks all xxx

Interestingly, when I was away on my holidays Digby has grown out a lot of feathers and barely plucked at all and he was on his own almost all day! Now I am back he is plucking again, and sometimes quite a lot in the morning! I wonder if those greys who started plucking because they were ignored are too desperate for attention, so when they know we are around to play with them but don't, they start plucking? Also, he doesn't seem to pluck when he is on his own left at home, like at the weekends. Makes you wonder, doesn't it!

Not sure about all these vinegars, but I tried to spray Digby with water with Aloe and he plucks even more afterwards, so I am thinking all these foreign substances on their feathers might just irritate the even more?

If you feel you need to rehome him then of course it would be best for both, he will be fine, I am sure in a new good home! Hopefully someone lovely from the forum will want to take care of him! Good luck, Paula! :flowers:

Thanks guys  :cheekkiss:

Sqiud - Eric is 8 years old he was hand reared as a baby but was left alone for a long time  He is the funniest grey i have ever met he talks so well and is such a funny little man, cute even though he looks a mess!He loves sitting out on top of his cage and is much happier out than in, i was able to tickle him and have had him stepping up before we went away but he is now a little funny with me again. He has his moments and will try and bite if he doesn't want to be touched handled. I think with someone that can give him more attention he will come round nicely he just wants to be loved bless him, and i feel so guilty not having the time  :cry2: He is a cracking fella and i hope someone with love and time will offer to have him. He eats his fruit and veg and pulses and loves his seed, sings, talks loads and swears a little bit, and coughs like he has cancer of the lungs!!!

Yes, Eric I meant of course - Eric and Echo sounds good though, doesn't it?

What I mean is, he is not aggressive towards others is he? It is just my Digby doesn't like any other birds or anyone really apart from me, always tries to attack bunny even  :cry2: :cry2: :cry2: and poor Dudley, he is so fluffy and sweet and doesn't have a clue why anyone would ever want to bite him!  :cry2:

He don't seem to bad no, as i said he seems to just like to be on his own cage doing his own thing, so that is where i let him sit and the others sit on the play stand on the other cage.i haven't seen him bite the other birds we did keep them apart for a long time as didn't know if Eric was ill, he always heres the others and i think if he was left to play with them he would soon be ok and join in the fun and games, i guess he just has never been use to having another bird about so is a little unsure how to take it and rathers sitting on his own as he is use to it!

 :cheekywink: lol

Im sure given a bit of time and TLC Eric will be fine with all, they all need time to adjust and he may need time to settle before being allowed to play with any other birdies but as i said he is quite happy to sit ontop of his cage and watch the world go by and take everything in!
