What a fright
« on: September 30, 2014, 07:21:22 AM »

When you wake to this in one cage :panic:

There's a spot of blood on the cage floor and a little round the tail area
And they belong to the only bird that has never been handled in the 7 years you've known him :panic: :panic:
You still have no choice
Within seconds here was Dave

Not the happiest bunny to be in that towel and both our hearts are beating out our chests
But within a minute I had checked him over
He has broke a blood feather but it has clotted and stopped bleeding
Sprayed some soother spray and I gonna see how he gets on
Gonna ring the vet just incase x

Aww poor Davey boy!
It looks like he's shed those all in one go, similar thing happened to Bobby during a night fright she shed her full sets of flights and a few tails feathers too. it was scarey! Could he have gotten caught in something hence the reason for the shedding of the feathers? they dont look plucked out.

How did you get on a the vets?

Update on Dave
Took him to the vets
2 blood feathers had been snapped so were pulled along with a couple more he had Prob chewed trying to find the irritation of the others
Had him microchipped and weighed too as all was done under anaesthetic

The vet said he has Prob 'dropped' the feathers due to stress of bein in discomfort

I had heard one of them fall whilst I was in the bathroom but by the time I had got to them all were perched fine so I didn't know who it was
All done n dusted now and he is none worse for wear
And I did allow him the roof down in the car  on his vet trip ;)
