how comes when smokey is eating dry food e.g. pellets, it's like he his struggling to swallow it and it kinda gets stuck and has to have water? is that normal?

Because they generally eat wet food in the wild they're not seed eaters. Hickory dips her biscuits.

Absolutely Hickory dips her toast too she's worked it out.

I would say just be little bit careful there's a fine line between looking out for them and being over protective. Constant new experiences and changes will allow them to become stable birds, the other end is a neurotic bird, that stresses and fears.

They will pick up on our anxieties, I've seen this outside. My 2 will not sit on someone who's nervous. It can have a knock on effect, all they know is one person is anxious they don't question why.

They also do it when there very hungry
 eg if they've been sitting eggs for hours then come out to eat .Its like there bolting their food down  at speed so they can get back :run

yes he does it in the morning? I give him 20-30 Harrison pellet cubes and he will eat them within 10 mins? I feed him fresh food daily aswell.

Yes it looks normal. Generally parrot behave like this while eating dry fruit.

For your satisfaction just once visit to your nearest doctor and checkup completely the throat of your parrot
