Hi carol
You need cornflower and plenty of it on the end of the beak
And maybe soft foods for a few days whilst its tender
It will grow back
How much has he snapped off x

Hi Mandy,
Thank you for your reply, I panicked! the bleeding stopped after half an hour, I rang an avian vet who said she would recover from it but to monitor her over the next few days and if she is not eating or drinking to take her in, she slept all evening and has slept all morning with her head on her shoulders so I think it is really hurting her, if she is no better tomorrow I am taking her to the vets to be safe. She hasnt said a word since it happened and she normally never shuts up all day! She has snapped off 7mm from her beak, she has snapped it before but it did not bleed and she seemed fine. She has eaten a little mashed potato and mashed carrots and drank water. Thank you so much, it is good to talk to someone who knows parrots.
