Showering with your parrot
« on: July 14, 2015, 09:10:35 PM »

So if you shared your shower with your parrot, would you be able to wash as normal with soap and shampoo?

Thank you. I just figured the best way to show him showers can be fun and safe was to share. I suppose I can just not wash haha

Lol :)
I take my birds in the shower but they just stand on the shower curtain rail not getting wet. Unless the bird in in the bottom of the bath where the soapy water pools I would say you'll be ok using shampoos and soaps whilst he's in there with you. Maybe invest in a shower perch.

I have a shower perch. My concern was mostly with the smells of soap and shower gel as I know they are sensitive to that sort of thing.

I tend to be a little aware and use either a natural(original source) or no-perfume. But I wouldn't be completely paranoid, some perspective I've used fairy normal to get oil of a wing on vet advice.

Mine sits on the curtain railing, he has a bath on his own accord, in the kitchen sink he loves it, I just watch him from far
