Ultrasonic diffuser
« on: March 05, 2015, 03:20:47 PM »

Hi guys
I have been reading about young living essential oil's that can be used around parrots if used with a ultrasonic diffuser that is supposed to be good for them. Does anybody on here use them and if so what are the best oils for them ?

yep I use them, I bought the essential 7 set, which is about 70-80 which has Lavender, Peppermint, lemon and blends peace & calming, Joy, purification and panaway. I also bought Citrus Blend as it's good for birds with liver damage to put in the water.

So far I've got loads left, they are used almost daily and peace and calming is pretty amazing at calming the birds down. Lavender is incredible for healing for us, I've had a burn recently and a few bites from my CAG and a drop of lavender heals it almost in a day, I'm not joking, my husband who is pretty sceptical about that stuff tried it on a cut and said, 'why aren't doctor giving this out'. So yeah I can recommend them. They are a great smell enhancer too. The health benefits for birds and humans is explained with each oil, but results are good I've heard.

I want frankincense which has been out of stock since I joined, and valour, both are not very expensive, however there are some that a 70 each. I couldn't warrant that price, but they are rare oils so understandable. There are a couple of oils you can't use around birds, because of what they are (cedar i think) but the other oils are tested safe for avian use.

it has to be an ultrasonic diffuser and I use this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/SOTO-Aroma-Diffuser-Ultrasonic-Aromatherapy/dp/B0041GYRW6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425571131&sr=8-1&keywords=soto+aroma+diffuser

If it's just for fragrance you could literally get away with lavender Reg, that's quite nice diffused but you'll get hooked and want to try others I suffer with sinus trouble & peppermint clears me up so well

Mmm I find the whole subject dubious oils have been about for a long time, many air fresheners use them yet we advise against it. @Kasky show me the research even just show me the average mortality age of birds she's treated. Never seen it, only seen case reviews I'd like to see peer reviewed research not case notes. Therapeutic grade is nothing it's unregulated the only regulated oils are food grade then they're are heavily standardised maybe too much. I'm not a for or against but until I see some proper research done scared me off. I'm pretty sure you'll tell me orange is safe go spill it on that French polish see what it does, poop off use that as a marketing tool.
