Willow working for Scarletts... Aviator harness...
« on: July 10, 2013, 09:16:30 AM »

Well for those who know my boy has killed 2 harnesses one accidentally(Flawed) and one when trapped. Well now he can destroy one in 45 mins if not kept a close eye on, these guys intelligence is shocking.

So on our 3rd one this year, always check the joins make sure any picking isn't successful.

Oh no! Good advice to check your harnesses when lots of birds are out in them at this time of year x

I think I have an idea of how to produce a chew proof harness.

I think I may need to send a few emails regarding this

Now Hickory is... I give up Hickory has just spent 10 mins chewing threw the elastic bit.

Why oh why are they so intelligent if I thought it would work I'd just put a radio transmitter on her but I've got a feeling the aerial will be snipped off in seconds..... And gps is the size of a small back pack...

Thank goodness for spares...

I hope this thread highlights to harness users just how insecure they really are, with the intelligence of these birds.

Hickory says anther sale Scarlett where's the bounty...? Not much more than a week old worn 3 times I think...

Thought I'd bump this as Willow is half way through his first one this year.

Yep carry a spare, takes Willow a solid 25mins-30 to take it out. That's without me annoying him by tucking the join away. Honestly I'd never stop better to have a well adjusted parrot outside that will do recall than a scared skittish parrot who flies for miles. When you've seen a parrot lose 5-10% of there body weight because they have been flying I doubt many people could go back. Sad bit is when the vet implies he doesn't see breast muscles that well developed. I wish more people focused on exercise over diet.
