Hi everyone im new on here dont have a feathered friend yet but getting one soonish,
looking at either buying a baby or getting a rescue not to sure yet as alot of the rescues seem to have alot of issues that im not sure im confident to deal with again and wanting a companion that I can take out places with me and that we can have fun days at the local park, eventually and hopefully
any advice is always welcome

Hello and welcome
I have birds Iv had from young and also rescues /rehomes
All have their own little quirks
Maturity brings a whole new ball game and your little cuddly ball of feathers turns into a teenager and you wonder what the hell has hit you
So least with a rescue all that has been dealt with so what you see if what you get :)
Either way good luck in finding your lifelong friend
Can't wait to hear all about your adventures together xx

Hi Marco and welcome to the forum.
Ask all the questions you want we are here to help and feel free to have s look round the forum.
You see Marco the thing is with parrots what you want and what you get with em can often be two different things as any of the regular members on here will tell you,but they are a great pet, but to do it right you need time dedication and massive commitment .

Aww look forward to hearing about your new baby,  have you had parrots before? If not read up as much as you can. They are very very intelligent & complex creatures but such incredible companions.
Start thinking about food, cages & toys.
As any questions you can think of :)

Iv had birds before 2 rescue teils that was living in a budgie cage eith 1 perch and when I got them they didn't know what to do with all the space I gave them and perches and ended up being called igor and frankie and looked more like vultures than teils, I had a few rescue parrotlets but never anything as big as a grey,
Iv already got a huge cage toys perches and everything needed just gotta set it all up ready but that will be done when I find the right feathered baby

Ahh that's brilliant, also I don't know if you're aware but you'll need an avian lamp for he/she, have a look on Scarlettsparrotessentials website, there's a reasonable one on there. I bet you can't wait!

You'll probably need a new bulb, they don't last more than a year, they lose their effectiveness, but at least you've got the unit :)

Have you contacted any breeders? When are you hoping to get one?
