The first pic is on day one nearly eighteen months ago, the other two were taken during the past couple of months Irina thanks. xx

Her feathers seem to be a little bit discolored still due to vitamin deficiency I presume (?) as seen in the second photo but they are so much more beautiful! The wing feathers look stunning!

I think when that pic was taken she was going through a moult so her feathers were a bit dull. Would that be maybe what you are seeing ? x

I mean on the second picture, which says a few months later, she has black tint to her feathers - it is a sign of vitamin and sulphur containing amino acids deficiency (basically not enough complete protein in the diet), but I can't see it on the third and fourth picture

This is fab Mandy!

No matter how much research you do there is always things popping up you didn't know but it would certainly get people to think hard before adopting a  :grey:

The Parrot Bill of Rights really hit home. I adore my Alfie and do the best i can for him, but this was like he was talking to me. I had a tear in my eye and just wanted to go and love him, although he has been fast a sleep for an hour or more and i wouldn't disturb him. Thank you so much for this post and for all the kindness and advice i have received since joining the forum  :cheekkiss:

Well, the Bill of Rights is ok as far as it goes; but it misses out some essential things; so here's my additions.

1. I have the right to be raised by my own parents, and not be subjected to parental deprivation  just because you want me to be 'tame' when you sell me.
2.  I have the right to be housed so that I can fly, every day of my life.

3. I have the right to be kept with my siblings and parents until I am *fully* independent, not just food independent.

4.  I have the right to be kept by people who understand all my needs, especially my behavioural needs, so people do not use forceful, cruel and aversive methods on me.

5.  I have the right not to be required to breed to produce yet more birds  for the pet trade, since so many of my kind are already 'unwanted' and thousands of us are languishing in variuos sanctuaries and rescue centres around country.

6. I have the right not to be kept in solitary confinement for decades
