Sickness
« on: March 24, 2017, 10:31:39 AM »

I have a 18 week old African grey. I recently changed his food gradually then noticed he was being slightly sick. I changed it back to the original food and still the same, being sick.
I took him to the vets on Wednesday to have him checked out. They said he was a healthy bird and gave me some calcium and vitamins   Just to try. He's still being sick and have noticed he's very sleepy and withdrawn.
Can anybody shed any light?
Thanks

was it an avian vet? being sick is never normal, what vitamins did they give?
Also what food was he on and what did you change it to?

They are the guardian angel vitamins. Don't think it was a avian vet but they said they specialise in parrots

Honestly go back, guardian angel powder is good for sick birds, but he shouldn't be being sick, the odd time can be them clearing their crop but continuous sickness and lethargy are not normal.

Phone them and speak to them

no worries, it may be nothing but you can't ignore these signs, better safe than sorry.
