Which Carrier?
« on: September 08, 2010, 03:29:52 PM »

been my local pet shop and the cheapest carrier was 35 quid!

had a quick mooch on the argos site, and they have two that seem to be ok! trouble is i cant see them in the flesh so to speak, so which do you think will be best?

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8702393/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CSports+and+leisure%7C14419152/c_2/3%7C14419152%7CPet+supplies%7C14418785/c_3/4%7Ccat_14418785%7CPet+carriers+and+kennels%7C14418790.htm

that one is Length 49cm, Width 32cm, Height 30cm
or they do a slightly bigger one which is Length 60cm, Width 40cm, Height 39cm

Thanks!

Steve I have one almost identical to that and it's fine for travelling in the car and taking to the vets. I wouldn't want Nico to spend huge amounts of time in there but she always seems happy enough when in there.  I reckon they are great value.

This is similar to  the one I have got It folds flat when not in use £24.99. I found with the plastic travel cages my bird slipped about in them, he prefers and feel safer hanging on to a perch

i bought a plastic pet carrier for jasper as i dont like the pak-o-bird ones.

i put a towel in the bottom to stop him sliding and asked my neighbour if he could fix a perch in for him. he used one from jaspers cage so he already was used to it.

he really does like going out in it now and doesnt struggle when i put him in  :)

What I put in my carrier is a towel, and a thick diameter, rough surface (bark left on ) perch and cut the base so it is flat, is does not roll or move around.as it is placed on the bottom on the towel. and that works great.

thats a good idea geoff too.

no need to get the drill out,if you have got or could buy one of those perches with the nut and bolt already attached you're half way there. just put something similar on the other end,my neighbour used a walking stick badge so its bee 'personalised' in  away.

jaspers perch is about 1inch diameter  :)
