Our Pair Of Blue Fronted Amazons
« on: April 21, 2012, 06:32:52 PM »

We have finally made up our mind to sell Jerry and Kerry  :cry2:

Reason for this, we gave up breeding last year, can't bare to breed when there are so many greys out there needing homes and don't want to be adding to the problem a few years down the line, Kerry and Jerry are a breeding pair, we have kept them up till now as they love nothing more than watching the world go by in our garden and rowing like a old married couple -

http://www.africangreyparrotcentre.co.uk/african-grey-forum/the-grey-gallery/our-chatty-blue-front's-video/

BUT they are a breeding pair and i think they would be better off with someone who wants to breed and also then we have that little bit of extra time to care for the rescues.

So if you are interested in finding out a bit more post up or drop me a PM, we will only let them go to somewhere we know they will be well cared for, they are a cracking pair of birds and will have you laughing for hours!

I really don't know John!!

They went that great the last time they had chicks one died so we removed the other to hand rear, i don't want to hand rear really if i can help it plus we have 2 holidays coming up so i really don't know what to do!

Which is why i wanted to sell them before this happened

Don't worry we are very careful no babies will be coming from us  :crossed

I guess we will find out if they hatch and make it

John if they raise a chick or 2 all the way past fledging what will happen if the baby was left in the flight with mum and dad would they turn against it in the end? Never been in the position of a fully fledged chick being parent reared so not to sure what they would do with it after they have done their job!!

Would i have to remove it at some point or could they live happy together?

the chicks will be fine if you leave them in with the parents .. if you don't want them to breed again take the nest  box down Paula . that's if your keeping them . the only time there use a box is when there breed so its easy to stop them breeding .. i should have told you before shouldn't i

lmao!! No i know that John  the only reason we put it back in was we was moving them about and sorting flights and the one we put them into had no shelter at that point so i stupidly put the box in  :ohno but they were put right up for sale and i was hoping to sell them but didn't! Why is it you can't sell a pair of blue fronts that are fab!! lol
