jaspers getting on really well,he chatters away quote happily, you can go to his cage and he comes to you to have his belly tickled,he has nearly mastered the step up.he is eating harrisons and tidy mix,he loves his fruit and veg,he trys to get under the sofa if you put him on the floor.he frightened me a bit the first night he was here he hung with 1 foot from the top of his cage.i could watch him play all day.i have covered him at night the breeder did not cover hers and told  not to as it frightens them.1 problem i have to solve is to stop the dog barking at him every time he walks past the cage.hes out the room when jaspers out.

What a beautiful photo, love it. Just take things nice and steady with the dog, im sure given time and reassurance the dog will calm down.Try bringing the dog on a lead into the room where the parrot is, if the dog barks then immediately take him/her out of the room and put in another room for just a couple of mins, say nothing. Then get the dog again on the lead and take back in the room, if it barks again then repeat what you did before...when eventually the dog does NOT bark, reward it with a really nice treat and and praise...this way he/she will soon realise that this is proper behaviour, should work quite quickly...best of luck, Martin :-)

I've never seen one lying down before either. What a stunning photo

When Nico came home the dogs were round her cage all the time nosing up to her and barking.  They got over it within a couple of weeks as the novelty wore off. Try to ignore them as much as possible when they do it so you don't reinforce it and treat them and reward them when they are quiet and away from her cage. Make sure they aren't getting any treats or being given exciting toys near the cage or they'll associate the bird with excitement and high energy.  Good luck
