Good afternoon everyone. I must say that the Avix Rain with aloe Vera has really helped Bill with his plucking. He hardly plucks now so I definitely recommend it. Saying that, poor Bill has been plucking all around the neck area and his chest since being diagnosed with an infection. Ayesha, you have done an amazing job caring for your birds, they are beautiful.x

Thanks Jules :) hmm I wonder if you changed the spray bottle it would work better? X

Thanks Kirsty, it took a long time but she finally got there, getting her to stop plucking was trial and error really and a mix of lots of other things, I was advised to ignore the plucking behaviour and walk out the room but that didn't work for missie, I actually used to tell her off when I saw her pluck an she didn't like being told off and she did listen, I kind of had to distract her to when I saw her attempting to pluck, it was also love and time being spent with her as her previous owners left her on her own with no toys or out of cage time so giving her lots of toys and time out to get strokes (once we got her hand tame with us) also helped, I think a change in diet worked wonders too and an avian light really did her good, we also supplement her diet with calcium which seemed to help from day one, I suspect she was low in it as we had a couple of vet trips about her being unsteady and that's what he put it down to x

Thanks Lou...yes we will get there with poppy slowly but surely :) Poppy's back is very very fluffy at the min so am hoping to see feathers soon, I was gutted though as I saw her pull her first proper feather out of her back some weeks back :( x
