That's great sam can still fly, and that new growth looks great  I've just started using the aloe Vera juice to mix in with water to mist my two, I'm hoping this will give a nice bit of moisture to their feathers and help poppy with her re-growth too :) x

Hiya mike, sorry I dont know enough about the actual plant to say weather or not it's safe to let them eat it, I've got the aloe Vera juice from holland and Barrett and I've been mixing that with water like you would make a cordial juice, so just a little aloe juice and the rest water, it's supposed to help their feathers keep the moisture in, Scarlett from the Scarlett's parrot essentials recommended it to me as my rescue grey poppy is practically bald all over bar her head and wings, she an actually fly surprisingly though :). You can see just how baldy poppy is there so I'm hoping the aloe Vera gets rid of her itch, she's not been with us very long though so it could be just a thing which she will always do as apparently she's plucke for years, so could just be a bad habit, am still trying to work that out but at least it will be soothing anyway if she's itchy or not xx

I use the Rain Topical spray which contains Aloe Vera. It has helped with Bills itchy skin. You can tell it soothes him as he always goes into a deep sleep afterwards.I really recommend it.xx

Ayesha, how long can you use the aloe vera once it has been opened (use by date) as i might buy some to use alongside the Rain spray to keep the costs down.xx
