Started plucking
« on: May 22, 2017, 08:56:19 AM »

My grey has just started plucking her legs, her diet consists of tidymix, mixed veg, noodles sweetcorn pomegranate etc she is not the best fruit eater. She has plenty toys on her play stand and in her cage she is out her cage And handled all the time. Any body any ideas why at nearly 7 she has started plucking. She also gets her daily essential supplements calcium.

Hi and welcome
Can I ask if anything has changed recently ?
And do you use any Uv lighting ? It really is a must
They natural live outside and need the vitD to process calcium
It helps them see better, gives oils for their feathers too along with loads more health benefits
Can I also have you had bloods don't at the vet to rule any illness or deficiency?
Xx

When Mandi asks if anything has changed it can be the most insignificant thing, so a change of hair colours, flowers being put in the room etc. They are so fickle sometimes.

If there's nothing that has changed in her world at all then take her to the vets to rule out any illness.
