Worried about what I just saw!

I just saw Oscar snip off a feather. Not plucked but snipped.  She is only 1 next month so she is starting her first moult. Please tell me she's not starting to pluck her feathers? She has no bald parts on her etc.

Here is the feather.

Is it the first ever 'snipped ' at her you've seen ??.

Try not to panic!

Moulting is very very irritating to them, they get so frustrated as they get itchy and sore :flowers:

jasper started snipping hers last year, just here and there. i think it was a molt that started her off too. she still does the odd ones but i try not to worry about it  :)

one of the greys i'm looking after here has snipped all his chest feathers, so he looks a bit fluffy. i hope they grow back for him with the next molt  :cheekkiss:

try some soother spray or glycerine & rose water which i'm using while i'm parrot sitting. it smells gorgeous
