Attached to his cage!
« on: February 05, 2012, 07:36:28 PM »

Jack seems to be far too attached to his cage.  I think his previous owners kept him locked up most of the time :baseballbat:

He comes out maybe once or twice a week.  Even with all the doors open, he hardly ever bothers to fly around or explore.

Has anyone seen this before?  How can I encourage him to come out?

Thanks peeps

good idea mandi

otherwise, does he have a separate playstand? if he does you could put some food or treats in the bowl and see if he'll go over to it,put it close to his cage so he can easily get back if he wants to,then gradually move the stand further away, not too far at once, just a few inches each time

a new should help no end.if you look for a playstand go for one with room to hang toys or place a ladder and stuff, not just a t-stand with bowls. i got one of these first and wish i hadn't bothered

Kev...depending on room you have etc..consider getting one of the old fashioned wooden clothes horses that fold down.  You can hang all manner of toys on them, and they make a brilliant play stand....Pat has one that she uses
