Step up
« on: December 16, 2015, 02:00:11 PM »

Thought I'd highlight a couple of bits, can't say I had a willing subject today.

First a refusal, let them...

Next take note this is a force, this is you will get on, I nearly push my hand into her. In a the others I do try a little persuasion(gently touch her)I shouldn't really(to focused on getting the videos). But she was way more interested in the phone today.

This a success also a backwards step, bit awkward as she's just gone to loo. She still does offer her foot though a little naughty do touch her slightly.

There is one missing what I call the drag up. One foot on and we start moving. I'll get a squeak of discontentment. I'll try and add that one at another time

She'd be even prettier if she stopped trying to push her brother around(fingers crossed might be the first year the vet has seen her with an immaculate beak, scarring on right side, no soft bits yeah). One of her latest is "who's a little princess got to change it to I'm a...

To be honest she is our handful, teaching her gentle has saved her. She was destined to be an attacker, she's certainly pushed it. She'll try to push anyone around, still not learnt Will isn't worth it. He's just to placid till he's had enough, heavy beaked that one.

The refusal is her through and through though.

She's lovely, I can see a slight reluctance in her face though.

You know what Mandie you're right on the money.

Tried this thread elsewhere but they missed the point and became about her stepping backwards. Not to mention other irrelevant bits.

She was reluctant for a few reasons, yet whilst reluctant she still did do it by herself. She had reasons main one Hickory was sat on her perch, we rarely get her off. Put my coat on and she practically jumps on. I also mistimed it by asking just as she was going to loo. She's also really not mine, I have to treat her very differently I can erode trust just looking at her wrongly. She makes me work for it.(though having been locked in tonight doing her tickles I was the best thing since almonds). If I towelled her it would take me a month of bribery to win her back.

Think it's so easy to accidentally force them. I know I did it for way too long. You shove the finger into them nudging them to do it for you. You get the response yet when you look closer it isn't really a response to the command, but a finger in the wrong place causing the step up.

Hopefully here it might help someone.
