They do pick things up quicker when they're young like human babies so the sooner the better

I think it's said that your grey at that age has the intelligence of a two year old human so the sooner you start the better

Step up would be first, as its a simple procedure, then build upon his training, see Pats Training threads.

Step up is always a good one to start with, I rarely say step up, just plonk my finger in front of them and they pop on, does every one else use the command?
I wish they could be trained like a dog......sit, stay, in your basket (cage) doesn't work that way though, they are far to stubborn

I offer the back of my hand with fingers and thumb tucked in and say step up whilst pushing my hand up under their chests. If they are being stubborn I sometimes hold a bit of walnut in the other hand above their heads so they are distracted. They don't seem to think of two things at once

According to Flint I say 'up', cos thats what he says all the time now

But basically he knows when the arm wrapped in the big blue towel comes towards him he is meant to step up

I just say "Come on then" to Charlie and he steps up.....or sometimes I don't say anything.  Penny is left well alone     Step up to her translates to "Strip skin"
