Isabella Tells Us All About The Great Outdoors

October 24th, 2011

Well what an exciting couple of weeks. My owner and I have reached a compromise, now usually I think a compromise is just a way of neither person getting what they want but on this occasion it has worked out not to badly for me. I really wanted to go outside, I have been making my feelings know on the subject for ages. My owner was being very stubborn and was refusing to let me out without the hideous pink monstrosity on. It clashes with my tail, there is no way that is coming anywhere near me. I really didn’t see the problem with just letting me out for a quick fly, I would come straight back. Anyway all that is behind us because I now have a lovely outside cage. I have been outside quite a few times and feeling the sun on my gorgeous feathers is fantastic. Like nothing I’ve ever experienced before but I have to say the outside world is very large. It’s obviously nice that more people can see me and offer praise and worship but my beautiful voice sounds very small outside. There are so many sights and sounds and I actually saw other birds. They looked so beautiful and confident and they weren’t confined in a cage like I was. I expected them to stop and meet with me but they just kept going. I don’t think that they realised I was there. I will have to get my owner to put out an announcement next time she plans to set up my outside cage so that all my birdy fans can come and visit with me. I think it’s only right and proper that my public are given the opportunity to see me in all my glory.

I just can’t put into words how exciting it was to be out in the fresh air. My owner stayed close to my cage while I was out so that she could check whether I needed anything. She brought me fresh grapes and a bottle to spray me with, she really had thought of everything, as is right and proper, I even got one of my favourite walnuts while sitting in a patch of sun. My only problem was the dogs, they seemed very confident and their barks sound so loud and imposing outside, they were showing off running about and barking at everything. People passing were obviously scared of them but when I went through my repertoire it just didn’t have the same effect, they called me cute and only backed off when the dogs started to bark. People should heed my wishes and I shouldn’t need dumb beasts get people to do my bidding. If it wasn’t for my owner there I would have been mobbed by well wishers, some people just have no respect. I object to being called “cute” when I am obviously trying to get people to keep a respectful distance.

I am working on getting my owner to let me out again tomorrow. She has a fondness for brazil nuts so I’m going to save a couple to offer her when she does something I like such as take me outside. I’ll have her trained in no time.
