Hi Ellen

It seems from the way you have described that she is getting ready to lunge at you or fly at you. Please register with this forum and you will find lots of information about various poses from our Greys. When she puts her head down for scratches, make sure she is looking down as well, if she has her eyes pinned on you with her head down, then she is getting ready to bite, you will be better off just staying still until she relaxes again and then turn and walk away. There is a lot of information on the site that would help you recognise the body language.

Hi James

Your Grey is not sad at all quite the opposite! He is showing you love and flirting with you, the wing dropping is a typical sexual behavior he is saying he loves you and you are his mate, the noises are the same too, when he does that just don't stroke him down his back or encourage it i normally place our Grey back on her stand if she does that to me while on my hand.

Best
