I admire your dedication to Poppy and have to say I'm amazed you found all the information on F10 and the natural apple cider vinegar. I will add your blog to my bookmarks and check back from time to time.

hi, I'm about to buy a african grey who ws rescued from a shed after her owner died. The stress made her pull out every feather she could reach. She is currently resident in my local petshop (they rescued her) and some of her feather have grown back since they put her out in the shop behind the till next to their own parrot, but she still plucks them. What worries me is that when i bring her home will the stress of moving again cause her to pull of them out again. She is a sweet little thing talks & sings but is quite nervous if she doesn't know you shakes from beak to toe and can bite. I have a busy house and she will never be left alone and i'm hoping that the distraction (her being able to see out of the window, being next to my chair and people taling to her throughout the day and chatter of my other birds) will perhaps take her mind of her feathers. I have never owned an african grey before, i do have other birds though. i am more than prepared to try the same treatment as Poppy. I would just really love some advice guys
thank you xx

My African grey is 18months old and has been feather plucking, though not to the extent of Poppy. I would like to know if anyone else has tried the cyder vinegar and F10 SC method with the same results as Poppy or improvements to stop feather plucking.

Hi there, I rehomed a beautiful african grey called Benny just before christmas, and what an impact he's made on our lives! He's so loving and copies everything, and I truly feel like he's a member of our family :) His old owners ended up shoving him in the kitchen, and only when he started plucking did they decide to rehome him. I don't think his diet was brilliant either, but I'm happy to say he eats a really good varied diet with us. I was hopeful that he'd stop plucking once he'd settled in, but unfortunately not. he only plucks at his chest, but it's down to the skin, with nothing downy at all, and although you can see the roots of new feathers they look sharp and I'm convinced they itch him. I've spent this evening ordering everything your plan recommends, and tomorrow Benny and I shall commence 'operation regrowth' as my daughter has called it! I'm hopeful that we can get Benny back to his full beautiful self. So thankyou, because this is the best advice I've come across after weeks of searching xxx
