From smart phones to smart cars, it seems that everything is getting a little more brainy. While most pet owners simply install a microchip tracking device in their furry (or feathered) friends, a Japanese family thought it would be wise to teach their African grey parrot, Yosuke, to recite his name and address… and it paid off.
Police rescued the stranded Yosuke from a rooftop near Tokyo. He remained tight-beaked with the cops though and didn’t say a word. It was only when he was released to a vet that he revealed his true identity.
“I’m Mr. Yosuke Nakamura,” the bird told the vet. He then proceeded to reveal his home address. The vet looked into it and discovered there was a Nakamura at that address and reunited pet and owners.
