Zulu – Makes Herself At Home!

Zulu - Makes Herself At Home!

Well Zulu has been with us a few weeks now and is getting her feet under the table…

She must be one of the most talkative rescue greys we have ever had here, when she gets going she goess, at the moment what she is saying a lot is ” wanna go for a walk!”, “Now then bird”, “Shut it you silly bitch” “Wanna Shower” and “Alright Sweetheart” just to list a few.

She is very protective of her cage but seems so much more at ease when she is out as you can see from the photos below she will come to both of us she loves to be out of her cage and steps up onto my arm and my husband Ricks too which is great she will come to both of us :)

Enjoy the photos below …there are lots of them!

Cookie Stands His Ground!

Cookie Stands His Ground!

Hello Angela here Cookies mum,i dont seem to be doing this right as i am useless with computers i some how put in reports about cookie but not in the right place, so please bear with me i need to get help from someone who knows what they are doing,if i had a brain cell i would be dangerous!!

Anyway if anyone is lucky enough to read this Cookie is doing very well and i really hope this herbal treatment continues to help the plucking so far so good! He loves to be out of his cage and can run very fast when he has to go back in to his cage, so with those little legs going ten to the dozen and of course quite a few nips we take about 20 to 30 mins to get him into the cage.

Cookie and poppy come out together now but young poppy is rather a bossy little madam and likes to show Cookie who is boss, but now cookie is starting to stand his ground which is good! I also put poppy in her cage and give cookie some peace, mind you they both talk so well to each other in fact some days they dont know when to stop I love it :)

Must go now as cookie wants to come out, bless him,

Bye for now will update again soon

Angela,cookie and poppy.xxx

Meet Foul Mouthed Zulu!

Meet Foul Mouthed Zulu!

On Friday I collected a new rescue and she is 5 years old and called Zulu… Her owners are moving to Australia in 2 weeks time and wasn’t able to take her with them so they found us and are happy that they will be able to follow Zulu’s progress through her rescue diary.

When I got there I was greeted by the lovely couple and a growl from Zulu as we think she took a dislike to my hair colour, I had not long had it dyed bright red so it was rather vibrant but by the time we was leaving she seemed to have got use to me, we made friends on the way home I think I bored her to death to be honest but she was happy enough, it was lovely and sunny when we got back so I left her out in the sunshine for half an hour while I set up her cage which she seemed to enjoy.

She was fine going in to her cage a little bit shall I … maybe i will… maybe i wont… ok i will and went in ok and straight up to her swing where she seems to love to be the best.

She loves to eat warm blueberries and palm nuts and is fed on Zupreem fruit blend pellets.

She has already started to chat away and shouting “W***er” a lot and “Wanna shower” “Good girl” and doing what sounds like hiccups, she is mumbling loads of other things just can’t quite make them out at this moment.

One thing I will say with her which we have noticed already is she is not keen on children as she never really had any contact with children in her home so I guess they seem a little odd to her! So when she is placed in her forever home it will be best she goes somewhere that there are no children.

I will add a few couple of photos up in the next few days as I wanted to let her settle in a bit more before I start to pap her!!

Bobby – Ducking Bar-Steward!

Bobby - Ducking Bar-Steward!

Well it has been a few weeks since Bobby came here and all I can say is well he has well and truly settled in!

Today I was greeted by the usual ” Hello Bob, Bob, Bobbbbbyyyyyyyyy!” and while getting on with my housework he was chatting away to me but then to my horror he shouted “f***ing B***ard!!” followed by “ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!” Also he has been saying F***ing Hell!! I am ignoring him when he says these and saying “What you doing ” instead to see if he will change and say that instead….Time will tell!

Well I was a little shocked as he had been very polite up until today but it normally does take a little while for them to settle in and become relaxed!

Bobby is a real happy grey and nothing really bothers him at all, he has let us both stroke him and also other family members so that is really good :) He enjoys his fruit and Veg and goes crazy for warm whole meal pasta and is a dunker when it comes to things you give him like his palm oil on whole meal toast he takes it straight over to his water bowl dunks it in then sits and eats the lot… very sweet!

He enjoys his time out of his cage and would happily stay out all day long and he is a good flyer too but is quite happy sat up on top of his cage.

Here are some more photo’s of him –

Meet Our New Rescue – Bobby!

Meet Our New Rescue - Bobby!

I would like to tell you all about our latest rehome to join AGPC his name is Bobby.

Boddy is about 6 years old as far as his old owners can work out, he is a bad plucker and shredder of his feathers. His old owners just didn’t have the time to spend with him and let him out as much as they wanted to so they thought it would be best to rehome him to us.

Bobby spends most of the day shouting, “Joesph” “Hello Bob Bobbyyyyy” “Bob this and Bob that” “Tickle” ” Come on then” barks like a little dog and laughs, burps and farts! He is a little wary of being stroked or tickled, loves coming out of his cage as soon as you open the door he is straight out, he loves Pear is now on Tidymix and some pellets mixed together.

He is a lovely bird who is looking for a forever home with someone that is there most of the time so he has company.

Here are a few photos of the cheeky chappy!
