Sammi

I think Tweak and Sammi are becoming good friends. Slowly I have been putting them closer together when out of their cages.

They seem much more relaxed by each other now which is great!!
When I sing ‘Always look on the bright side of life’ I have them both whistling the whistle part to me whilst Sammi does his dance. He is such a character.

When mom had him for the few days every time the phone rang he would say ‘phone’. All weekend Tweak was saying the same thing and I couldnt work out what it was until mom pointed it out. We dont have a land line so wouldnt have made the connection so quickly. They are both learning so much off each other and sammi now shouts ‘Tor’ and ‘no way’ and if I look at him he says ‘what’

Dil spent a few hours last night putting his box together. Its almost finished and will go on the wall where the remains of Sammis basket are in the above picture.

Sammi is having a few nights stay round my moms whilst we go camping. For next years camping trips we will be getting another Pak-O-Bird as he was fine in the short journey to moms and he seemed really settled in it. He keeps mewing like at cat to wind my moms dog up, she finds it hilarious! Its funny cos he doesn’t wind our dog up like that although he does sound like a cat a lot and Tweak copies him now too!
I’m missing him like crazy, I think Tweak is too cos she keeps calling out to him.

We finally made the jump and put Sammi and Tweak together away from their cages. I was quite nervous but am over the moon with the outcome! Lets hope its the start of a beautiful friendship :0)

Sammi is really warming to me now. Dil has took a back seat on his care so that hopefully he bonds with me more, it seems to be working :0)
He will lick my fingers through the bars of his cage now instead of trying to rip them off. He is still quite unsure of me when he is out of the cage but is much better than he once was.
There are feathers everywhere in my house right now as both Sammi and Tweak are moulting so one flap and feathers are all over!! Sammi is still really unsure of Tweak and the few attempts we have had of letting them out together havent been good :0( Not sure how to get round that one, just give them time I guess.

All of a sudden last night Sammi started whistling the Simpsons theme tune! We never have it on in our house so it must be something he remembers from before. Dil has also heard him say things in my voice though he couldnt pick out what he was saying.

Were in the process of designing/building a huge play house, kind of an indoor aviary for the two of them. Seems as Sammi likes his hidey holes we will be putting in a few special places for him to go and hide away in. It looks good in my head, just need to get it on paper now for Dil to make :0)
