Miss Hollie!

July 17th, 2012
Miss Hollie!

We travelled to Julie and Stevies on 30th June to meet our new african grey Hollie, the first thing we noticed was her amazing colour, then her eyes she is a real beauty,

Hollie took to Russell straight away but she was wary of me. Julie and Stevie are really nice and made us feel very welcome. After a 3hour drive back it took about 20 mins for Hollie to go into her new cage fitted out with brand new toys etc.

She ate her pellets so we were happy. This is her 4th day and she has made her self at home, not afraid of mad Thabo even been into his cage.

Kato just watches as usual. Today she came out of the cage onto settee for me to scratch her so she seems to like me too YEAH! She doesn’t speak but makes lovely soft noises which melts our hearts, she can wolf whistle which she does if you leave the room, we found her bedtime is around 9.30 and she soon settles when we cover her.

Hollie is a girlie girl so petite and soft she is a loved member of our flock

Kato 8 Weeks On

Can’t believe that on Sunday(Bank holiday weekend) we have had Kato in our family for eight weeks! We are still taking things slowly well I am, husband doesn’t stand a chance sorry to say. Kato will take food from me and when I ask for tickles he will put his head down but I still need to count my fingers, Kato is saying a lot more but he and Thabo have not gelled as yet.

Mr Kato Update

Mr Kato Update

Kato has been with us for 1 month now, he has a really good appetite and would eat everything in sight if I would let him.

He only steps up if he has chosen to come out of the cage so I take the opportunity to give him a soak in the shower.

He lets me know when it’s bedtime and wants to be covered, he also lets me know when he has had enough of his supper (veggies) and wants his pellets back.

It’s a slow drive up the hill but I know we will reach the top soon. I love him to bits and am so happy we have him with us.

Kato’s Story

Kato's Story

Kato came into our family just 3 weeks ago 8th April 2012 to be exact, he joined my 1 yr old CAG Thabo who we have had from 12 weeks old, Julie and Stevie travelled down to bring us Kato I think it was about a 3.5 hour drive so big thanks to them. I am the main parront and thought it was going to be an easy job taking a rehome but my hat goes off to all the foster parronts here, Kato and I are having a few problems connecting I have new bites and had a few bloody ones too ouch!.

But steps are being made when I leave for work he shouts to me, when I take his cover off on the morning he speaks to me he will take food from my hand but I don’t forget that I have to do things his way and at the minute it is going slowly, but I am patient and hopefully the next time I write about him there will be more good news.
